SPME is extremely grateful to these most generous members of the SPME Contributing Network. It is only through our Network Contributors that we will be able to fund such projects as “Professors and Presidents With Jewish Problems: Power in America” ( a response to Walt-Mearsheimer and Jimmy Carter) planned for the University of Maryland where we plan to and another proposed conference on “Anti-Semitism in Academia” now in a proposal stage. We have other proposals for programs and conferences that we professors are willing to offer to their colleagues in a formal academic way, but are not being able to be offered because we are not able to raise funds from anyone other than our SPME subscriber list. Quality scholarship that will change anti-Israelism in our disciplines is going unpublished in disciplines because no one is willing to fund such programs for serious scholarship. So we must fund it ourselves.

Get ready as SPME gets set to announce the publishing of its “Postcolonial Theory and Arab-Israeli Conflict” papers from its Case Western Reserve Conference in 2005 edited by Philip Carl Salzman, McGill University and Donna Robinson Divine, Smith College. This important volume ( a $130 pre-order value from the publisher) will be given to donors of $500.00 or more as a token of our appreciation.

So please, give today…less than 3% of you receiving and appreciating the SPME Faculty Forum are contributing. We need you. Click here to give. Thank you.

SPME

Scholars for Peace in the Middle East (SPME) is not-for-profit [501 (C) (3)], grass-roots community of scholars who have united to promote honest, fact-based, and civil discourse, especially in regard to Middle East issues. We believe that ethnic, national, and religious hatreds, including anti-Semitism and anti-Israelism, have no place in our institutions, disciplines, and communities. We employ academic means to address these issues.
