SPME Search for Book Review Editor Continues Through December 15, 2009

SPME is seeking applications for the new (volunteer) role of Book Review Editor for the Faculty Forum publication of SPME. The Book Review Editor will be responsible for working with authors, publishers, the SPME Board of Directors, and members of the SPME Network, to identify and distribute important books and other publications addressing issues in the Middle East to scholars with relevant expertise for review, for evaluating the reviews, and for seeing them through to publication. The reviews will be published in the SPME Faculty Forum on a regular and timely basis. The Book Review Editor will be a member, ex-officio, of the SPME Board of Directors.

Qualifications:

Ideally, applicants should have a doctoral degree and an academic appointment in a field relevant to the planned focus of the book reviews. At the least, they must have academic training and/or significant experience relevant to the planned focus of the book reviews and access to other scholars who are potential reviewers. Only current academic year contributors (>=$75) to SPME will be considered for the position.
