Canadian Union of Postal Workers Allies Itself With Pro-Terrorist Palestinian Counterpart

The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) has allied itself in a joint project with the Palestinian Postal Service Workers Union (PPSWU), which rejects Israel’s existence and supports terrorism, B’nai Brith Canada has reported.

The CUPW said the project was “designed to strengthen the Palestinian postal union and build greater solidarity between our two unions.”

PPSWU’s Facebook page has featured several expressions of support for terrorists, including Hamas member Ahmed Nasr Jarrar, who murdered an Israeli man this past January and was later killed in a clash with Israeli security forces.

Another terrorist praised by the organization was Fuad Shubaki, who masterminded a massive weapons shipment to Gaza on behalf of the al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades terrorist group.

Other posts on social media indicate that the PPSWU rejects the two-state solution in favor of the elimination of Israel and its replacement with an Arab state.

The CUPW has endorsed the BDS movement in the past. It represents 50,000 Canada Post workers.

B’nai Brith Canada CEO Michael Mostyn stated, “Rather than using the union movement to build peace between Israel and the Palestinians, the CUPW leadership has aligned itself with the path of violence and extremism. This is both deeply immoral and obviously not in the best interests of Canadian postal workers.”

An Israeli-Canadian member of the CUPW, Alon Katzakevich, said he was “shocked and concerned” by CUPW’s stance on Israel. “Be my guest to explain to my kids why they grew up without a grandmother who was murdered by Palestinian terrorists,” he stated.
