The Faculty Fellowship Summer Institute in Israel is a competitive academic fellowship for university and college faculty members.

Sponsored by Media Watch International along with the Jewish National Fund (JNF) and Scholars for Peace in the Middle East (SPME), the two-week program seeks to link American scholars from diverse disciplines with their Israeli counterparts at major institutions. The participants will also meet with professionals involved in government, industry, education, media and other sectors to understand the many facets of Israel’s evolving national and international policies. The participants will gain a deeper awareness of the many challenges faced by the country and the creativity, spirit and ingenuity that Israelis bring to tackling these issues.

The program will highlight several key categories:

* Academic Exchange, Networking and Collaboration
* History
* Society
* Economy
* Politics, Diplomacy and the Media
* Culture
* Science and Technology
* Law, Democracy, and Human Rights

The program will run from June 19 – 29, 2011. A limited number of participants will be selected from the pool of applicants. The selected participants will have travel and land expenses paid by the sponsors of the Summer Institute.

For more information and for application details go to www.ff2israel.org Applications must be submitted no later than April 29, 2011.

SPME

Scholars for Peace in the Middle East (SPME) is not-for-profit [501 (C) (3)], grass-roots community of scholars who have united to promote honest, fact-based, and civil discourse, especially in regard to Middle East issues. We believe that ethnic, national, and religious hatreds, including anti-Semitism and anti-Israelism, have no place in our institutions, disciplines, and communities. We employ academic means to address these issues.
