Just a short update about recent activities and some coming events.

As a result of the unfortunate defacing of the suckah on our campus, we (the UC Davis Chapter coordinators) sent a letter to our Chancellor, L. Vanderhoef. The letter expressed our concern and requested report on action taken by the administration. We also published a letter in the Sacramento Bee and in the Davis Enterprise.

Last Friday M. Singer and I met with interim Provost Prof. Horowitz to discuss the Sucakh event as well as other anti-Jewish events and sentiments on campus. We got the impression that the Provost is concerned about the recent developments however, we did not learn about actual measures that the administration is ready to implement.

Next week, on November 13th our chapter will co-host a lecture “IMPEDIMENTS TO PEACE in the MIDDLE EAST” by Itamar Marcus, Director of Palestinian Media Watch.

The event will be at 8:00 PM at 194 Young Hall UC Davis Corner of 2nd & A Streets, Davis, CA
