Zionism: a multi-perspective approach

Differing viewpoints on Israeli policies

Irwin J. (Yitzchak) Mansdorf PhD
Director, ‘David Project’ Leadership Program in Israel-Arab Studies

Midreshet Lindenbaum, Jerusalem

in discussion with…

Charney Bromberg
former executive director, MERETZ USA

The son of socialist parents, Charney Bromberg worked between 1964 and 1967 for the Congress of Racial Equality and the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party. He is a well-known and longstanding civil rights activist who also worked for the Anti-Defamation League before directing Meretz-USA, one of the oldest American Zionist organizations that generally supports the principles of Meretz, a progressive-Zionist party in Israel. Mr. Bromberg has recently returned from Israel and will engage in a free and open exchange with Dr. Mansdorf on various aspects of Israel and Israeli policy, including a retrospective look at the peace process, the outlook for the future, the past war in Gaza, the Shalit affair, Bibi Netanyahu’s new government, the new Knesset and the status of democracy in the Jewish state.

Join us for what should prove to be a stimulating, informative and challenging evening.

SPME

Scholars for Peace in the Middle East (SPME) is not-for-profit [501 (C) (3)], grass-roots community of scholars who have united to promote honest, fact-based, and civil discourse, especially in regard to Middle East issues. We believe that ethnic, national, and religious hatreds, including anti-Semitism and anti-Israelism, have no place in our institutions, disciplines, and communities. We employ academic means to address these issues.
