Prof. Meron Langser Seeks Submissions for Scholarly Discourse on “Corrie” and “Pieces” Play
Prof. Meron Langser of the Theater and Dance Department of Tufts University, who is a participant in the SPME Network, is conducting an academic experience at the New Repetory Theater in Watertown, Maine, where he is producing two contrasting plays, My Name is Rachel Corrie and Pieces by Zohar Tirosh. He writes that in an effort “to increase the audience’s sophistication of the situation” he is seeking submissions of 200-600 words of commentary from scholars for what is hoped will be a “scholarly discourse” on these plays. Submission deadline is February 22, 2008. Please contact Prof. Langser directly at meron.langser@tufts.edu

Scholars for Peace in the Middle East (SPME) is not-for-profit [501 (C) (3)], grass-roots community of scholars who have united to promote honest, fact-based, and civil discourse, especially in regard to Middle East issues. We believe that ethnic, national, and religious hatreds, including anti-Semitism and anti-Israelism, have no place in our institutions, disciplines, and communities. We employ academic means to address these issues.
