John Myhill, University of Haifa, Comments on IAW Strategies…Anti-Apartheid Forces in South Africa Won With Gandhi and King, Not Ethnically Targeted Terrorism of Civilians

I applaud your efforts, but one more thing should be added to your
list of factors distinguishing the two situations. This is the tactics
of the other group.

The Blacks in South Africa, led by Nelson Mandela, oriented their political program around non-violent protest, modelled on the ideology of Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King. They never
murdered white people for the sake of murdering white people.

If you check at http://mipt.org/ , a comprehensive database on terrorist incidents, you will see
that there was literally not a single incident of this type in South Africa.

On the other hand, political expression by Arabs against Israel has focused
on deadly attacks against any available Israeli target. The tactics
are diametrically opposed.

The peaceful tactics of the ANC in South Africa demonstrated to the white people there that peaceful coexistence between Whites and Blacks is possible; the huge number of murderous tactics of Arabs against any available Israelis has demonstrated to Israelis that peaceful coexistence between Arabs and Israelis depends to a certain extent upon separation.

Good luck and best wishes,

John Myhill
