Nonie Darwish, public speaker, founder of “Arabs for Israel” and
author of NOW THEY CALL ME INFIDEL: WHY I RENOUNCED JIHAD FOR AMERICA,
ISRAEL, AND THE WAR ON TERROR will be speaking on Wednesday, January 17,
at 7:00 PM in room 112 Norton Hal at the University at Buffalo.

Born in Cairo, Darwish spent her early childhood in Gaza. When she
was eight, her father, an important general and terrorist leader, was
killed, the first victim of an Israeli “targeted” assassination.

Darwish received a BA in Sociology/anthropology from the American
University in Cairo and worked as an editor and translator for the
Middle East News Agency. Now Darwish lives in the United States where
she works, through “Arabs for Israel,” for understanding and
reconciliation between Arabs and Israelis. She will talk about her
experiences in Muslim and Western cultures and share her unique insights
on the Middle East and the dangers of radical Islam.

Her talk is sponsored by the Jewish Student Union and
co-sponsored by the Buffalo Chapter of Scholars for Peace in the Middle
East, StandWithUs, the Jewish Community Center of Greater Buffalo.
