Abe Haak was born in Jordan to a family that experienced, first-hand, the pivotal events before and since the reestablishment of the state of Israel.  His research into the conflict’s key issues extends over 30 years with a focus on the Israel-Jordan relationship. Abe completed an undergraduate degree in international studies in Vienna, Austria, followed by graduate work in linguistics. After spending several years as a research assistant in the Faculty Research Service at the Harvard Law School, Abe worked as an Assistant Professor in Japan. He  is certified by the American Translator Association (ATA), and is currently teaching in the German and Arabic Translation programs at New York University.
