Phyllis Chesler Blasts Frankfort Book Fair To Officials

Dear Editor:

Please look at the titles that the Arab World are showing in Frankfurt. The standards for original thought and for truth-telling have been significantly lowered in the European world. It is as if Hitler’s “Mein Kampf” and other racist propaganda were positioned right next to–and therefore viewed as equal in merit–to the works of Noble laureates such as Issac Bashevis Singer, Toni Morrisson, or Elie Wiesel. This is an example of what Bat Ye’or has termed the Eurabization of daily and cultural life in Europe. Those of Arab descent show not interest in becoming assimilating or integrated as citizens of Europe nor does the Islamic world show any interest in western-level standards of truth-telling or art. Poorly written propaganda, diabolical lies, utter fabrications are seen as “equal” to or “the same as” works which are based on facts and which have intelligent analysis.

This was called to my attention by Scholars for Peace in the Middle East. Please share this information widely.
