Dear Fellow Members of SPME,The December 11, 2006, issue of THE NEW REPUBLIC, the American weekly, has a damning review by the distinguished American writer Cynthia Ozick of the book (as well as play) MY NAME IS RACHEL CORRIE ( https://ssl.tnr.com/p/docsub.mhtml?i=20061211&s=ozick121106 ). The play, of course, won raves when it initially appeared in London. As an American who has now lived, and taught, in the UK for thirteen years, I am always pleased to read news magazines like the NEW REPUBLIC, which, in delightfully American fashion, has the confidence to defend Israel without worrying about what others will think.
