The Islamist regime in Teheran suppresses democratic efforts domestically and pursues an
aggressive-militarist policy internationally. The godfather of Terror destabilizes the
Middle East and threatens Israel with its destruction.

Simultaneously the European businesses with Iran go like clockwork: The German government
facilitates the Iranian business of German companies with investment protection treaties
and export credit guarantees (Hermesbürgschaften). The 22billion Euro deal of the
Austrian OMV AG – due end of 2007 – will turn Europe into a long-term strategic partner
of those political powers, that while employing new religious and political forms tie in
with the eliminatory delusion of the Nazi regime. But is it only for economic reason that
foster European foreign politics?

The appeasement and collaboration with the Iranian regime increasingly threatens the
European societies to form up. The question to be asked in this regard is to which extend
are the European willed to give up on the secular and liberal heritage of the
enlightenment? Does the anti-Western resentment or even the anti-Semitism provide the
grounds for an undeclared alliance between Europe and the Mullahs? Which means are at
hand to confront the counter-enlightenment?
