Hello everyone,
On November 4, 2015 the University Affairs Committee of the Associated Students at San Jose State University voted to call on the university to divest from companies (G4S, HP, Motorola Solutions, and Caterpillar) that profit off of human rights violations in the Occupied Palestinian Territories with a 5-2-0 vote. In addition to SJP, there are 27 other organizations that support this resolution. The Board of Directors of the Associated Students will now consider the resolution this coming Wednesday November 18, 2015 @ 3:00PM in the Student Union Ballroom. This vote will determine whether or not the resolution will be adopted by the Associated Students of San Jose State University. We as students, faculty, and community members should attend and engage in expressing our beliefs regarding why this resolution should pass. We do ask that everyone acts in the most respectful manner for the whole duration of the hearing and not interrupt any of the speakers regardless of their stance on the resolution.
