The fall semester ends with BDS and antisemitism roiling campus and national politics. From celebrities like Kanye West and Kyrie Irving, the continuing scandals regarding the exclusion of Jewish speakers by the UC Berkeley Law School student government, to the covert anti-Israel campaign uncovered at Morningstar’s corporate rating division, the extent of anti-Israel and anti-Jewish bias is growing. Increasingly the logic appears to be the marginalization of Jews from American life as much as the vilification and isolation of Israel. SPME’s Live Briefing Series covers recent BDS developments and gives listeners the opportunity to ask questions to SPME staff.

Scholars for Peace in the Middle East (SPME) is not-for-profit [501 (C) (3)], grass-roots community of scholars who have united to promote honest, fact-based, and civil discourse, especially in regard to Middle East issues. We believe that ethnic, national, and religious hatreds, including anti-Semitism and anti-Israelism, have no place in our institutions, disciplines, and communities. We employ academic means to address these issues.
