Jack Wertheimer is professor of American Jewish history at the Jewish Theological Seminary. He writes about religious, communal and educational developments in American Jewish life since 1945. His most recent book is The New American Judaism: How Jews Practice Their Religion Today (Princeton U. Press, 2018). His latest project is a series of articles on the impact of Covid on different sectors of the American Jewish community.
