SPME Wishes to thank these new and ongoing contributors for their 2007 year end gifts to SPME to help support our important work. With these funds we will be able to work on producing more scholarship to counter anti-Israelism and anti-Semitism in our institutions, curriculums and disciplines. These contribution have made possible to some extent:

1) To have Stephen Walt and John Mearsheimer present at our University of Maryland Conference where their work will be critiqued by their peers for a formal publication.

2) To support the first SPME Faculty Fellowship Summer Institute in Israel to be offered this Summer

3) To Bring German Historian Matthias Kuntzel, Research Associate from the Vidal Sasson Center for the Study of Anti-Semitism at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, to the United States to lecture at major universities on his new book Jihad and Jew-Hatred: Islamism, Nazism and the Roots of 9/11 which will be webcast and archived for SPME from his Columbia University presentation.

SPME

Scholars for Peace in the Middle East (SPME) is not-for-profit [501 (C) (3)], grass-roots community of scholars who have united to promote honest, fact-based, and civil discourse, especially in regard to Middle East issues. We believe that ethnic, national, and religious hatreds, including anti-Semitism and anti-Israelism, have no place in our institutions, disciplines, and communities. We employ academic means to address these issues.
