Edgar Pick: Academic and Professional Boycotts Associated With Worst Periods of Intellectual History

  • 0

Academic boycott is an act associated with the worst periods in the intellectual history of mankind. By supporting an academic boycott of Israel or any other country, the medical and/or academic profession is joining the malodorous crowd which burned witches in the Middle Ages and books, followed by people, in the past century. The mere idea of the BMJ poll is a disgrace and an insult to the people who authored the Magna Carta.
In addition to these issues related to the general principles of liberty and justice, the originators of this shameful poll are rejuvenating the crudest form of Mosleyite anti-Semitism by directing their self-righteous wrath to the only democracy in the Middle East.
A sad and dangerous time in the history of British Medicine. Due to ignorance or hatred, you are selling out to one of the worst forms of fundamentalism that the history of mankind has known.

Sincerely,
Edgar Pick, M.D.,Ph.D.
