SFSU Students Concerned US Taxpayer Money Funding ‘Terrorist Agenda’

“This failure to recognize Ms. Abdulhadi real intent for her trip and the use of taxpayers money to fund her trip makes the school an accomplice to her terrorist agenda.”

The administration of San Francisco State University has thus far remained silent after allegations emerged that two members of the faculty met with terror-affiliated individuals on a California taxpayer funded trip. Professors Rabab Abdulhadi and Joanne Barker, along with Abdulhadi’s husband, allegedly met with terrorists Leila Khaled and Sheikh Raed Salah.

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), of which Khaled was a member, is a terrorist organization responsible for 159 terrorist acts such as bombings, armed assault and assassinations, resulting in numerous injuries and deaths including those of more than 20 United States citizens. Salah, the leader of the Islamic Movement in Israel, has served jail time for his role in financing Hamas and his affiliation with other terror-related groups and activities, including Iran. Salah has also accused Jews of using children’s blood to bake bread.

According to a 2011 article in the Daily Mail, Salah “is said to have cast doubt on Osama Bin Laden’s culpability for 9/11, suggesting instead the attacks were an Israeli plot and that Jews were warned not to go to work at the World Trade Center on that day.”

One student told TruthRevolt, “I am not surprised that a faculty member at my university has the support of the college to facilitate such a trip. What does surprise me is the people who help fund my university i.e. taxpayers are willing to let this happen.”

Martin Gonzalez, a student at the university echoed this sentiment: “It is very irresponsible of the school to not only fund a trip for Professor Rabab Abdulhadi to meet and interact with people affiliated with terrorist organizations but also to fail to investigate what and where exactly was she doing and with whom.”

“This failure to recognize Ms. Abdulhadi real intent for her trip and the use of taxpayers money to fund her trip makes the school an accomplice to her terrorist agenda.”

Eight organizations sent a letter to administrative officials over the “Labor Delegation to Palestine 2014” which began on January 5th, 2014 and concluded on February 14th, 2014. Roz Rothstein, CEO of StandWithUS which was one of the co-signing organizations, told TruthRevolt on Tuesday that they are “concerned that Professor Abdulhadi met with members of U.S.-designated Palestinian terrorist organizations.”

Rothstein added that “California tax payers would be incensed to learn that a publicly funded university used their money to support political activity and anti-Israel extremism. The university should demand that Professor Abdulhadi return the money which she received under false pretenses.”

“This past year alone, Jewish and Israeli supporters have been intimidated routinely by students proclaiming their own support for murderers of Israelis and threatening to use violence, Aviva Slomich, Director of the Campus Department for CAMERA, told TruthRevolt. “Now professors on the campus, who the students are supposed to respect as knowledgeable and trustworthy advisors, have manipulated the university into using tax payer funds to support their own extremist views. It’s up to the University to put an end to the hostile environment on their campus and take action to support and protect it’s students, as they’ve promised.”

Slomich also pointed out that according to the Office of Student Conduct: “The OSC strives to facilitate student learning, ethical development in connection with the student disciplinary process, promote academic integrity and responsible conduct through outreach, conduct outcomes, and education. The OSC works to maintain a safe and orderly campus environment.”

Reached via email, Gonzalez was critical of the atmosphere that SFSU fosters, indicating that many students suffer an infringement of Civil Rights and are the victims of bullying:

San Francisco State University already faces a grim situation for students that want to voice their concerns and create dialogue and conversation regarding the Israel-Palestine situation. SFSU suffers from hidden antisemitism that tends to come out when Jewish students make their voices heard. The monopoly on the conversation of Israel and Palestine that the Palestinian groups on campus has created has led to an environment where the voices of the people who want to create real conversations are silenced through methods of intimidation and discrimination, often leading to antisemitic actions such as the former president of GUPS’ (General Union of Palestine Students) death threats to Jewish-Israelis. SFSU is fomenting this environment in school by funding  Ms. Abdulhadi’s trip and by encouraging her terrorist connections by giving her tax payers money without question.

One student leader was the subject of an FBI anti-terror investigation after photos surfaced in which he brandished a knife and wrote that he wanted to “stab an Israeli soldier.”

He echoed the testimony of recent SFSU graduate Kayla Wold who told TruthRevolt, she felt “a need to suppress my identity and ideologies.” Wold also said she was “not surprised” that two professors used school issued taxpayer money to meet with terrorists who have ties to American deaths.

“If SFSU officials pride themselves as protectors of culture and diversity (as the various murals illustrate at the Cesar Chavez Student Center) they must ensure that through their actions, they avoid funding people like Ms. Abdulhadi. She has shown through her actions that she is not for conversation and dialogue but as her meetings with terrorists may suggests, more radical forms of action may be of her taste,” concluded Gonzalez.

UPDATE: Ellen Griffin, Associate Vice President of  University Communications has provided TruthRevolt with a statement:

Universities respect and encourage academic freedom and do not censor their scholars or condone censorship by others. Faculty can and do communicate with others relevant to their research, communicating by various methods that can involve travel. Any allegations that a member of the University community misused state funds will be investigated.
