From Les Cherow to the Organizers of the Bienniale Architecttura in Venice:

I understand there is a request before the organizers of the upcoming Bienniale Architecttura that Israel’s entry be disallowed and, in addition, that Israel itself be disinvited from participation in the event itself.

It is my understanding also that this proposal is offered by a group calling itself ‘Architects and Planners for Justice in Palestine’.

I respectfully ask that this proposal be denied in the interest of fairness and justice for Israel. Israel has every right to fully participate in this event.

Most importantly, the Conference should be above being used for political purposes and should, instead, focus on its’ emphasis on Architecture and design.Sincerely yours,

Dr. Les Cherow822 Forest Highlands

As and Urban Planner and Professor Emeritus of Rutgers the State University of New Jersey I strongly urge to reject the suggested request by the UK planners and Architects for justice in Palestine (APJP) not to permit the Israeli Exhibition to take place at the Bienniale Architectura to held in Venice. The profession has to be free of cohersion by groups claiming justice for itself at the expense of others. The only way to insure justice is by fairness, and loyalty to a profession that is inclussive and does discriminate based on crede, religion, or race. I wish you succes in your deliberations.Sincerely Yours, Marcos Leiderman, Master in Urban Planning. Flagstaff, Arizona, U.S.A.

Dear Sir/Madam:

Just wanted to let you know that my husband and I both urging you to make a decision not to ban the Israeli entry or Israel from the exposition to the conference at the prestigious Venice Architecture and Art Exposition. We feel that Israel received unfair, biased and antisimetic press coverage during the war and perhaps this bad press has influenced you into considering this decision. Do these attitudes express what you exposition is all about? I hope not and am hopeful that you will make a wise and unbiased decision that does represent what this exposition is trying to convey.

Mr & Mrs M. Kozlyk,
British Columbia, Canada*************************************Apparently a group of Israel-haters from the UK is calling to ban Israel from participating in an upcoming exhibition and conference. There is absolutely no basis for singling Israel out in this way. There is nothing special about Israel except that it is the only Jewish state in the world. This is all the more reason to ensure that this small country, representing an even smaller people, is welcome to participate.

Greetings.
I would like you to include the following letter as
my voice in the up-coming issue of the Bienniale
Architecttura in Venice at the Art Exhibit.
As a perscuted Jew currently subjected to racist
Islamic Anti-Israeli/Zionist hate speech by Black
Muslims in Portland, Oregon and having been excluded
from dialogue at Portland State University, in a Peace
Studies Conflict Resolution Course;
I urge the Committee to consider that it has been
Nazism in the form of Palestinian Nationalism which
has resulted in the displacement of many Palestinians.
Let us never forget to voice our position that the
root cause of the Palestinian problem was caused by
Haj Amin Al Husseni, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem,
(Yasser Arafat’s “Uncle”) who was the personal guest
of Adolph Hitler, fled Iraq and found refuge in Nazi
Occupied Germany and sponsored the forming of a
Brigade of Balkan Muslims to murder many Jews.
Lest we forget, Nazi propaganda is still “State
Sponsored” anti-semitic “discourse” on Palestinian
national Television and is used under the umbrella
cause of Palestinian Nationalism and the Struggle for
Independence. This so-called struggle for independence
is nothing more than the continued fifth column of
Nazi Germany’s plan to eradicate Jews and prevent a
peaceful–prosperous–place of refuge for Jews and
other oppressed peopeles.
If what the Palestinians fear is exposure of this
vital truth then we can not have truthful discourse on
the issue of just or unjust wars and will remain
stagnating in the lost cause of discourse on
Liberation and Palestinian Nationalism equals Justice.

We need a memorial to publically display our voice of
protesting the murder of innocent victims of the
on-going anti-semitic guerilla war waged against the
Zionist State of Israel.
We have had enough boycott’s of Israel to last ten
lifetimes and need to state the truth where it is the
most effective in the public arena.

John Mauritz Hummasti

Please don’t knuckle under to pressure from and the UK-APJP-an anti
semitic group that is a in line with Mosely -and ban Israel’s memorial
entry. Venice has long had a reputaion for not being deluded by ‘the
big lie’.
Thank you,
Ada Jacobowitz ( Phoenix, Arizona)

Dear Organizers
I hope you will not let your exhibition be upstaged by a political-agenda entity regarding the Palestinian/Arab war against Israel. Perhaps the anti-Israel forum has forgotten its history- when the United Nations voted in 1947 for a two-state partition of the about-to-be freed British mandanted “Palestine” seven Arab armies then invaded the nascent Israel. Of course, the problem in the Arab eyes was that they lost, despite the overwhelming forces of both soldiers and weapons.

The Arabs, who so supported the Nazis during the Second World War were the originators of the extermination of the Jewish people, although it was the Nazis who almost succeeded in carrying it out. The then Mufti of Jerusalem was hosted in Germany well in those years. Alas! The Koran and Muhammad himself calls fof killing the Jews, -witness the absolutely free-of-Jews in Saudi Arabia, despite there being a thriving Jewish population there when Muhammad appeared on the scene.

Please do not be taken in by a blatant hate- amazingly, almost all of the terrorist acts in the world today are by Muslims-against the ideas of Democracy and pluralism- while the Jewish people and Israeli nation have contributed so much in many fields. Moses of the Bible must have known something and been truly God-inspired.

Yours Sincerely

To Whom it may concern:

Please reject calls to withdraw entry for Israel’s entry to the
Biennale Architettura. Cultural events are meant to promote
understanding and discussion. Forcing an entry out of the Biennale
for the sake of politics would squelch precious chances for
discussion and rapport, which is what the world so sorely needs in
these violent times.

Best,

Andrew Asch

***********************************************

Surely you wouldn’t allow a group of highly predjudiced anti-Semites
(among them Jews) dictate the artistic and design directions of the
exhibition. Their hatred for a free people shows in their malign
endeavours instead of soaring to the clouds with physical
expressions of the spirit.
Sincerely,

Honorable Sirs,

On April 7,1994, I was a guest in your wonderful country,at the invitation of Pope John Paul II of blessed memory. His Holiness had organized a special audience followed by a memorial concert to honor the memory of those Jews who had perished in the Nazi Holocaust. His stated sacred mission was to seek reconciliation between Catholics and Jews and especially between the Vatican and the State of Israel. It was through Him that the Vatican established diplomatic relations with the State of Israel.

I was there when His Holiness urged open dialogue between Christians and Jews. I was there when His Holiness said, “We must look to the Jews as our elder brothers for it is from Judaism that Christianity stems.” He made it clear that he held in great esteem, the works of Nostra Aetate, whereby prior Church Councils declared the spiritual patrimony common to Christians and Jews and recommended and promoted a mutual understanding and respect. In the spirit of your teachings of brotherly love as Christians and the democratic ideals of freedom of expression found in your country, I urge you to do the right thing and not be pressured by groups which seek to incite animosity and ostracism by removing Israel’s participation from your world renowned Venice Art and Architecture Exposition.Sincerely, Claire Meadow******************************************The HeadThe Bienniale Architecttura Organizing CommitteeDear Sir/Madam, Practically acquainted in Australia with factual intellectual genocide where education, experience, internationally acclaimed professional achievements help a little for non-Anglo-Saxon professionals at a local job market, I am not wandering at news of the UK-lead attempts to ban Israeli professionals from a world event which is Bienniale Architecttura in Venice. To my belief, your international forum is an inappropriate place for mixing architectural display with exhibiting a traditional anti-Israel anti-Jewish sentiment, and I am convinced your response to provocateurs from Britain will further sustain my convictions. Thank you for your valuable time and your priceless attention to this message.

Yours sincerely,

Michael Kerjman MIEAust CPEng MISMS MMVEA(USA) MBDP(UK)
